Rubik’s Cube Program

View Comments

rubik's cubeGoal: Write a program that will display, rotate, solve, and provide hints (if asked) to the Rubik’s cube puzzle.

I think that it would be a good challenge to write the hints part of it because it requires the algorithm to solve the puzzle itself and choose a path that is best. The hints part could give different tiered levels of hints. This idea came about in wanting to play with a rubik’s cube, but not really wanting to spend the $8 bucks to actually buy one. Haha.

Paying people to go to church…

View Comments

money This question came up in a discussion with the author of Going the Wong Way. Would I pay people to go to church? As the I thought more about my answer (yes-with reservations), I started chewing on the idea more. I was thinking about this in terms of people who are required to work on Sunday / Saturday for their livelihoods. I think that it would be so cool to be able to offer people financial help to be apart of a community, that they would normally be excluded from for financial reasons. I see it as a radical pairing of meeting spiritual and physical needs, and meeting people where they are at, instead of asking them to come to you. A lot of times we ask people who sacrifice a lot to be apart of our community, without sacrificing much to go to them. This does go against the idea that we have to go to their community instead of drawing them out of their community too…but I don’t have everything figured out :(
