Bridge of Hope Family Session

View Comments

Our small group at Coast Vineyard has had the privilege of helping out with the Bridge of Hope program, headed up by Sheri and Brew Briggs once a month.  The program accepts donations which are redistributed to families in transition, mostly recent immigrants.   They provide furniture, clothing, basic household tools and food.  They partner with local San Diego organizations to get in touch with the people who need them the most.  They are even beginning to provide classes like basic computing to add to these families skill sets.  It is amazing how much they do!

Sheri had a great idea to do some photos for some the families she’s been working with.  Some of the children have not seen their parents for years.  We were able to provide them with pictures that they could mail back to their parents so that they could see how they have grown!  That feels so priceless.  We got some shots in right before sunset and continued to shoot after sunset for as long as we could.  Some of the children ran back to their apartments and changed into different clothes just so they could get more pictures.  It was great.  Each time I took a shot, all the kids would clamour around me wanting to see the picture on the camera LCD.

Here are a few shots!  If you are a photographer and would like to come help next time we do family photos, let me know (We need your help!!)  If you have a donation for Sheri, please email me for her  contact information.  She will schedule a time to pick up your donation if needed.
