my heart was hardened, I would not wait any more

my actions read, stop asking, stop waiting,

seeming silence, I heard no answer, that I wanted to hear

my hope waned, so I moved backwards, instead of staying put

I stopped asking, stopped waiting, stopped listening

if there was answer, I wouldn’t know

but even if no answer, I should still seek and I should still listen

it is about the journey of seeking, and not just the end of answers

my heart is softened, I will listen again

give me a heart that will ask and wait and listen and not move without you
