What to do with cucumbers growing over trellis?
I have some English cukes growing up a 7ft trellis. One of them is already at the top, and it is just starting to fruit. I have a number of cuke plants (groups of 2-4 planted 2ft. apart), so I am not sure if I should just pinch the growth tip and all shoots, or pinch the growth tip and let the shoots go after the 6th or so leaf. The only other option is to jerry-rig an line off the top to a higher point and let it keep going.
The English cukes are my problem now. Havbe about 6 of them. Doubt I’ll have the same problem with Marketmore or Straight 8s. But I am afraid if I let the English go laterally they’ll easily expand over the top of the other cuke plants and I’ll have a worse problem in a few week.
