Can you help me find a specific author and sci-fi series?

I can’t recall the authors name nor the title of the series right now. Some details I do remember has the series progressed is that one part was on earth in the near future and it featured a global computer program called “Doorways” that had some secret lines of code written in. It also revovled around a mercenary group. Another part of the series took place on a planet that had been colonized and was run under a libertarian-style of government. One of the main themes running through the series was the recording of human identity on machines, while back on earth it was a more eco-friendly socialistic utopia and people lived for hundreds of years.
I found it. It was Ken MacLeod’s “Fall Revolution” Series. Thanks for the help.
